Several wind power plants are expected to appear in the Rostov region before 2024. According to Vasiliy Golubev, Governor of the region, the facilities will be built on the shore of the Azov Sea, near the Tsimlyansk reservoir, in the Dubovsky area, in the town of Gukovo, and more.
A number of big companies operating in the field have entered the Rostov region, thus creating a competitive market. They include: Komponent (intending to produce equipment at Krasny Kotelshchik and Atommash), Rosnano, Rosatom, and the Australian and Italian players.
The first wind farm is expected to be commissioned in the fall 2019 or early 2020.
